📝 Examinations & Progress Report
At Sri Kalaivani Vidyalaya Matric Hr. Sec. School, assessments are designed to
evaluate knowledge, skills, discipline, and consistent progress. Students are encouraged
to perform sincerely in all examinations and tests, which form an essential part of their academic growth.
Examinations & Tests
Kindergarten (KG):
- Monthly assessments, three mid-term tests, and continuous evaluation based on learning activities.
- Focus on LSRW (Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing) skills, creativity, and behavior.
Primary & Middle School (Std I – VIII):
- Three mid-term examinations and two terminal examinations.
- Regular class tests and assignments to strengthen daily learning.
- Emphasis on understanding, not rote memorization.
Secondary & Higher Secondary (Std IX – XII):
- Two Terminal Examinations (Half-Yearly & Annual).
- Pre-board / Revision Tests for Std X & XII to prepare for public examinations.
- Subject enrichment projects, practicals, and lab work included in evaluation.
Progress Reports
- After every examination, Progress Reports are issued to parents to track their ward’s academic performance.
- Parents are expected to sign the report card within three days and return it to the class teacher.
- Answer scripts are shared with parents for transparency and must be signed and returned promptly.
- Continuous monitoring ensures that students improve with every assessment.
Promotion Criteria
- A minimum of 75% attendance is compulsory to be considered for promotion.
- Students must secure at least 40% marks in every subject to qualify for the next class.
- Discipline, behavior, and participation in school activities are also considered during promotion decisions.
- Results will be declared at the end of the academic year; the Principal’s decision will be final.
Parent Involvement
- Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) are scheduled once every term to discuss academic progress.
- Parents are encouraged to meet teachers and the Principal regularly to monitor performance.
- Active involvement of parents ensures consistent improvement and motivation for students.
